Holistic Mathematical Nature of Space and Time

Perhaps the most important contribution of the holistic scientific approach is that it leads to a completely new understanding of the nature of space and time, which quite remarkably is directly related to the different number types (when likewise understood in a holistic mathematical fashion).

For example we have rational numbers. Therefore in holistic terms we likewise have rational space and time.
So quite simply, phenomena (both physical and psychological) exist in rational space and time (when understood in a corresponding rational manner).

In fact the conventional understanding of space and time (3 space dimensions and 1 time dimension) represents just one unique distinct version of the rational nature of space and time where qualitative (holistic) notions are reduced in a quantitative (analytic) manner.

Thus in conventional science, space and time are solely investigated in a quantitative manner as having a similar common validity with respect to the phenomenal data investigated.

However directly associated with the holistic approach is the realisation that every phenomenon exists uniquely in a distinctive framework of space and time.

So just as an unlimited number of quantitative measurements can be made with respect to the same common dimensional configurations (of space and time) in analytic terms, equally each measurement is associated with a unique qualitative dimension  in corresponding holistic terms.

And just as quantitative numbers can be both positive and negative in real and imaginary terms, equally with respect to the holistic experience of space and time (in a complementary physical and psychological manner) we have positive and negative notions of space and time in real and imaginary terms.

And far from these representing abstract possibilities without corresponding experiential meaning, these new ideas of space and time correspond precisely with intuitive notions when understood in the appropriate holistic manner.

So the great barrier at present to recognising this fundamental point is that scientific interpretation - at least in formal terms - is conducted in a merely analytic fashion, which thereby blocks out development of the refined intuitive understanding on which true holistic appreciation of space and time depends.

As we know in physical terms there is a wide possible spectrum of energy, of which natural light comprises one small band.

Equally in psychological terms, there is a wide possible spectrum of energy of which the common sense intuition associated with conventional scientific interpretation comprises just one small band.

However, whereas these alternative bands of physical energy (besides natural light) are now widely recognised and utilised, unfortunately from a psychological perspective, the alternative bands of psychological energy are not at all yet accepted. So the scientific profession is still tied, in its attempted formal interpretation of physical reality, to just one limited band (which excludes the varied forms of holistic type appreciation entirely).

Likewise with respect to number types, we can distinguish - what I refer to as the original numbers - 0 and 1, the prime and natural numbers, the integers and the rational numbers.

Likewise in qualitative holistic terms we can distinguish - corresponding directly to these number types - original, prime, natural, integral and rational notions of space and time respectively.

Then equally just as - besides the rational - we have irrational numbers (both algebraic and transcendental) equally we have corresponding holistic notions relating to irrational space and time (algebraic and transcendental).

Finally corresponding to transfinite numbers (in analytic terms) we have corresponding holistic transfinite notions relating to the appropriate holistic appreciation of space and time.

And what is vital to appreciate is that all these possible notions of space and time - rightly understood - constitute an intrinsic aspect of reality (physical and psychological) which can be directly experienced in an intuitively accessible manner (given the appropriate holistic psychological development).

As I would see it there is a great deal of misleading material being written - even by the most respected physicists - regarding so called multiverses and parallel worlds that supposedly remain inaccessible to humans. However this more accurately simply reflects the reduced nature of analytic interpretation that is employed.

For example, because the conventional paradigm is a real i.e. conscious based approach, notions of imaginary time and space, which directly relate to the holistic unconscious, cannot thereby be appreciated as an integral component of normal everyday experience.

So “imaginary worlds” are artificially split off in such understanding from corresponding “real worlds”. However when holistic is properly integrated with corresponding analytic appreciation, the imaginary is naturally seen as penetrating real reality at all levels.

So from this perspective, experience (in physical and psychological terms) is necessarily of complex phenomena (related in real and imaginary space and time).

And just as the real represent a special case with respect to the complex numbers (where the imaginary part is ignored), likewise the conventional scientific paradigm represents a special case with respect to a comprehensive complex paradigm (where the holistic aspect of interpretation is formally ignored).

In fact the very notion of the universe as employed by the scientific community is quite inadequate for there is not in truth one universe “out there” to be investigated.

Rather because the whole is reflected in each part and the collection of parts in turn reflected in the whole, what we have is a dynamic two-way evolving organism whereby the whole universe is thereby uniquely contained in each part (from this perspective thus constituting multiple unique universes). Equally however, the collection of these parts is likewise contained in the overall whole (from this complementary perspective thus constituting one common universe).

So in dynamic interactive terms, what we refer to as the universe, entails the two-way interaction of the one with the many and the many with the one in both an analytic (quantitative) and holistic (qualitative) manner.

Thus the universe - by definition - is qualitatively contained of many multiverses, with the many multiverses in turn quantitatively contained in one universe.

And in truth the universe cannot be properly conceived as some giant objective mechanism in quantitative terms. Rather the universe is a living organism, reflecting again at every level, the two-way interaction of both quantitative and qualitative aspects in analytic and holistic terms.

The Number 137

The number 137 has raised considerable interest. Its reciprocal (1/137) approx. is referred to as the fine structure constant in physics and is related to the probability of electrons (or other particles) emitting or absorbing particles. Much has been written regarding the "mystical" properties of this number. Indeed some years ago my attention was drawn to its significance through correspondence relating to Jungian archetypes. And just recently an interesting article by Giorgio Piacenza has been published on Frank Visser's Integral World web-site. Without wanting to claim too much for the "mystical significance" of this number, I would like to initially broaden the topic to highlight some important general properties of prime numbers (of which 137 is a specific example). From one perspective prime numbers can be viewed as the basic building blocks of the natural number system (which we literally view in a linear manner as stretched out on a strai

Curved Spacetime

The next significant breakthrough that Einstein was to make was the realisation that space and time becomes curved in the presence of gravity. As however gravity is an especially weak force in normal circumstances this curvature is so small as to be undetectable. However in the presence of matter with a substantial degree of mass the gravity force can exercise a significant degree of influence in warping surrounding space and time. Einstein also postulated that gravity would cause light to bend in the vicinity of such mass. Indeed Rutherford's experimental verification of this in 1919 was accepted as proof of Einstein's General Theory thus paving the way for universal acclaim. Once again there is a fascinating holistic correspondent to the curving of spacetime. Not only is this of interest in its own right but ultimately it throws considerable light on the true relationship of the electromagnetic to the gravitational force (demonstrating why a fully unified field theory is

String Theory - a new myth for our age

It is amazing how in life if one waits long enough that things tend to come full circle. And this is true of the development of science itself. In earlier times, science was much influenced by the intrusion of confused holistic notions of a spiritual nature that significantly impeded proper analysis of physical behaviour. For example in the middle ages, largely to serve theological requirements, the Earth was believed to be the centre of the solar system. Therefore when Galileo supported an alternative viewpoint (based on objective empirical analysis), he was forced to detract his opinions so as to preserve religious orthodoxy. So it is only in the last 400 years or so - largely as a result of the monumental contribution by Newton - that science has successfully differentiated itself from subjective beliefs based directly, or indirectly, on religious notions. Indeed one could argue that the prevalence of the aether (which Einstein finally discarded in the early 20th century),
